JD Stout's 34 points for Keota led area scorers in Tuesday's high school basketball games.
Keota 82, Colfax-Mingo 43
The Eagles nearly doubled the visitors' score in a boys South Iowa Cedar League game, leading 20-6 after one quarter, 44-19 at halftime and 66-32 after three.
Stout went 12 of 17 from the field including 4 of 5 on triples and 6 of 6 at the foul line. He had four rebounds and three assists. Teammate Luke Hammen was 8 of 16 on field goals for 19 points with seven rebounds. Wyatt Sieren collected 10 rebounds.
Keota is 8-1, 6-0 SICL and plays at BGM Friday.
Highland 65, Hillcrest 58
In a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division game at Kalona, Cole Adamson scored 16 points, going 9 of 11 at the foul line in the win. Zack Lasek also was 9 for 11 on free throws and 7 for 9 from the field for his 24 points. Mason McFarland hit 3 of 5 threes on his way to 11 points. Bill Laughlin 4 of 7 from the field and 4 of 6 at the line for 12 points.
Highland led 15-14 after a quarter, then 29-21 at the half and 48-33 after three.
Lone Tree 70, Columbus 50
The Wildcats lost to the home standing Lions in this SEISC North game.
Eric Valdez put up 23 points and Columbus teammate Mason Hodges had 13.
Columbus plays tonight at Van Buren.
Highland 56, Hillcrest 18
In the SEISC North girls game, Alyssa Brase had 18 points in the Huskies road victory.
Yani Guttierez led the way for Hillcrest with eight points and eight rebounds. Esther Hughes added seven points to go with six rebounds.
Lone Tree 61, Columbus 16
The visitors scored just two points in the first quarter of the SEISC North loss.
Colfax-Mingo 52, Keota 30
Keota trailed 9-6 after the first quarter but 25-14 at the half in the SICL loss.
