Highland knocks off Lone Tree
A strong third quarter separated the Highland girls? basketball team from rival Lone Tree on Tuesday night.
Highland outscored the Lions 22-7 in the third quarter, and came away with the 54-45 victory.
The win improves Highland to 14-4 on the season, and with an 11-2 conference record, they sit two games behind undefeated Pekin in the conference race.

A strong third quarter separated the Highland girls? basketball team from rival Lone Tree on Tuesday night.
Highland outscored the Lions 22-7 in the third quarter, and came away with the 54-45 victory.
The win improves Highland to 14-4 on the season, and with an 11-2 conference record, they sit two games behind undefeated Pekin in the conference race.
Highland?s two conference losses have been to Pekin.
Junior Kelsey Hora led the charge for the Huskies with 31 points and five rebounds, while senior Cheyann Adamson picked up nine points and five assists.
Highland will face a tough test against Mediapolis on Friday night, as Mepo looks to avenge a 71-57 loss that the Huskies handed to them earlier this season.
Columbus holds off Wapello
A big night from Columbus junior Bailey Stroud helped the Wildcats pick up a victory on Tuesday night.
Stroud put up 27 points against Wapello, also notching a team-high four assists, as the Wildcats withstood a late rally, winning 55-52 over the Arrows.
The win marks the second straight for Columbus, who had just lost eight -straight contests. The Wildcats are 6-10 on the season.
In the game, Stroud was joined by fellow junior Shania Boyd, who had 13 points, while Kortney Orr had nine points and four assists in the contest.
Senior Kelli Roush had a team-high eight rebounds in the game.
Columbus will go on to face Louisa-Muscatine on Friday night.
Mid-Prairie cruises past Wilton
Three players finished in double figures for the Mid-Prairie girls? basketball team on Tuesday night, as the Hawks ended a two-game losing streak against Wilton.
Behind Ali Butters? 18 points, Mid-Prairie picked up a 66-42 win, and improved to 9-6 in the conference.
All six of their losses have come to ranked teams.
Sophomore Addison Rath had 15 points and a team-best five rebounds, while Ireland Hostetler picked up 13 points in the contest.
Alex Rath finished the game with nine points and four assists for the Hawks.
Mid-Prairie will look to start a win streak against Camanche on Friday night.
