MT. PLEASANT — It was a rough two-day stretch for the Mt. Pleasant boys soccer team, which fell in a pair of games before the weekend.
The Panthers dropped a Southeast Conference showdown 11-0 against Fort Madison on Thursday. One day later, they lost 10-0 against Iowa City Regina. Both games were finished early due to the 10-goal mercy rule.
The Panthers really had their hands full on Thursday. Fort Madison came into the game undefeated and on top of the SEC standings, and the Bloodhounds didn’t disappoint.
Fort Madison scored all 11 goals in the first half, ending the game once the first-half buzzer sounded.
Regina took a bit longer to get to 10. The Regals put up five goals in the first half and five in the second.
Mt. Pleasant is now 2-8 the season. The Panthers have lost six straight games since starting the season 2-2.
