Super Conference pairings released
WACO gets No. 5 seed, Van Buren County No. 6

The Southeast Iowa Super Conference released its 2023 tournament pairings this week, and all 17 teams will be in action on Thursday in pool play.
The tournament will feature four pools. Danville, Highland, Columbus and Central Lee will all host pool sites.
Winfield-Mount Union gets the No. 9 seed in the Danville Pool, otherwise known as Pool 1. The Wolves will be joined by top-seeded Holy Trinity Catholic, No. 8 seed Danville and 16th-seeded Lone Tree.
At Highland, two area teams will be in action, as the 10th-seeded Huskies will welcome in No. 15 seed Pekin. Also playing in Pool 2 will be No. 2 seed West Burlington and No. 7 seed Mediapolis.
Columbus will host ‘Pool 3, and the Wildcats will come in as a No. 11 seed. Also in Pool 3 are sixth-seeded Van Buren County and No. 14 seeded Hillcrest Academy. No. 3 seed Notre Dame is the only non-Union team to appear in Pool 3.
The top seed in the Union area is WACO, which enters Pool 4 at Central Lee as the No. 5 seed. The Warriors will be joined by No. 13 seed New London from the Union area.
Central Lee’s pool will feature five teams. No. 4 seed Wapello, No. 12 seed Central Lee and No. 17 seed Louisa-Muscatine will all be on hand.
The Top-2 teams from each pool will meet up at Southeastern Community College on Saturday. The quarterfinals will feature the Pool 1 winner facing the Pool 2 runner-up, the Pool 3 winner taking on Pool 4 runner-up, the Pool 1 runner-up and Pool 2 winner going at it, and the Pool 3 winner playing the Pool 4 runner-up.
