Suzanne Eklund

Suzanne Eklund, 64 of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Jefferson County Health Center.??

Her body was willed to the University of Iowa donor program.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Fairfield Friends with the Rev. Larry Eklund officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family and sent to Richard Eklund, 1300 W. Jackson Ave., No. 17, Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. Eklund was born Feb. 10, 1948, in Leon the daughter of Rex and Alice Metz Williams. She married Richard Eklund June 17, 1995, in Jefferson County.

She was a deputy director for the South Iowa Area Crime Commission for 22 years.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; two sons, Paul Short and spouse Jayne of Land O Lakes, Fla., and Eric Koffman of Fairfield; two step-children: Kelly Brobst and spouse Troy of Perry, and Jim Eklund and spouse Kathy of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Doug Williams of Cartersville, Ill., and Rosemary Jefferies of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
