Swartzentruber and Pretz to play in IGCA Senior All-Star Game
Mid-Prairie?s Mariah Swartzentruber and Columbus? Megan Pretz were recently selected to play in the Iowa Girls? Coaches Association Larry Niemeyer Senior All-Star Game, which will be held at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids on April 6. Both will play for the Class 3A Dark squad, which will be coached by Crestwood?s Doug Sickles.

Mid-Prairie?s Mariah Swartzentruber and Columbus? Megan Pretz were recently selected to play in the Iowa Girls? Coaches Association Larry Niemeyer Senior All-Star Game, which will be held at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids on April 6. Both will play for the Class 3A Dark squad, which will be coached by Crestwood?s Doug Sickles.
Swartzentruber, a 5-foot-8 forward, averaged 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game and led the Golden Hawks to their first state tournament berth since 2004. She also averaged 2.5 steals per game and blocked an average of one shot per contest.
Pretz, a 5-foot-9 forward, averaged a double-double this season, scoring 11.6 points per game and pulling down 12 rebounds per contest for a resurgent Wildcat squad that finished 14-9. She also blocked 20 shots and came up with 33 steals.
The Class 3A Dark squad will take on the 3A White team at noon on Saturday, April 6.
