KEOKUK ? Personal bests for the Fairfield swimmers continued to drop Tuesday as the Fairfield swim team lost to Keokuk 107-67.
Jaci Bell led off the meet with another win, almost breaking her own six-dive record with a score of 181.75. The 200-freestyle relay featuring Baylee Bowman, Claire Slechta, Abby McMahon and Jade Greiner won with a time of 1:54.53. The foursome also finished second in the medley relay with a time of 2:05.96.
A nice performance by Jaci Bell, Maggie Carlos, Megan Palmer and Katrina Jackson brought in points with a third-place finish in the 200-free relay. In the 400-free relay, Hanna Kerr, Megan Palmer, Clair Slechta and Katrina Jackson placed third.
Hanna Kerr swam a personal best 1:16.05 in the 100-backstroke to finish first. She also scored a fourth-place finish in the 100-butterfly.
?Kerr?s steady work on her backstroke turn has helped with this new time drop,? said head coach Jane McMahon, who said Kerr was the coach?s pick for best individual performance.
Other first-place finishes came from Greiner in the 100-butterfly (1:06.11), McMahon in the 100-breaststroke (1:15.68) and Bowman in the 200-freestyle (2:12.16). Second-place finishes came from McMahon in the 200-individual medlay (2:38.83) and Bowman in the 500-freestyle (5:49.38). Greiner was third in the 50-freestyle (26.77).
Newcomer Yenifer Jimenez swam to a personal best in the 50-freestyle, while Maggie Carlos filled in the medley relay freestyle slot with a nice finishing leg. Sisters Megan Palmer and Paige Palmer continue to bring in points for the team while Katrina Jackson is still a go-to swimmer for the point producing relays.
The Fairfield swim team travels to Williamsburg Monday.
