Swimming postseason sites named

FAIRFIELD - The swimming and diving regional assignments were released Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Fairfield will travel to Grinnell at Grinnell College for its regional meet Nov. 2.

'Honestly, I'm not sure we will have anyone make it to state,” Fairfield coach Brittany Winslow said. 'Our in-season times are not close to state qualifying times and we probably won't drop that much to qualify.”

The Trojans are not in a conference for swimming so their last home meet will be Tuesday. The Trojans will honor their seniors in a meet against Keokuk and Burlington that starts at 6 p.m.

'My goal for the girls, and I hope they have the same for themselves, is to leave that meet with a personal record,” Winslow said. 'Some of the seniors will be leaving that meet finishing their high school careers and some are just getting started, but whatever scenario they are in, I want them to leave this season feeling accomplished because I know they have all improved this year and that's a win in itself.”
