The Southeast Conference baseball season ended on Wednesday night with Fairfield's loss in the substate final, and that meant it was time to finally release the All-SEC teams.
Mt. Pleasant was represented well on the squad, getting 10 names overall including four on the first team.
Four different Panthers were named to four different positions on the first team. Jaxon Hoyle was named as a pitcher, Corbin Broeker was named to the infield, Chase Williamson was named to the outfield and Clayton Lowery took the spot of utility player.
Hoyle was one of the top pitchers in the league this season, going 8-1 overall with a 3.00 ERA and 48 strikeouts. At the plate, he hit .269 with a double, a triple and 15 RBIs.
Corbin Broeker was solid in the leadoff spot for the Panthers, hitting .284 with a double and 20 RBIs.
Chase Williamson hit .342 from the nine spot, an average that led the team (minimum 10 at-bats). Williamson hit one double on the year and finished with 11 RBIs.
Clayton Lowery was one of the top hitters in the league this season. He hit .333 with 12 doubles, two triples and 26 RBIs, all of which led the team.
Mt. Pleasant also had four second-team names. The only three seniors on the squad; Bryce Anderson, Chase Lamm and Trace White were all named to the second-team, as was Nik Coble.
Honorable mentions for Mt. Pleasant went to Dalton Gardner and Brennen Bender.
Four Panthers were honored for their work in the classroom. Lamm, White, Lowery and Coble were all named to the Academic All-Conference team.
