FAIRFIELD — Fairfield senior Rowan Terrell will continue her volleyball career at Southeastern Community College.
Terrell signed her letter of intent to attend and play volleyball at SCC last week in the Fairfield High School commons area.
Terrell said she was all ready to be done with volleyball, until it was actually time to be so. She says she immediately started to feel the call to come back to the sport.
“I was OK with being done with volleyball, but then I did a lot of thinking,” Terrell said. “I missed it a lot.”
Terrell is coming off a 144-kill performance in the fall of 2024. She led the Trojans with 65 blocks and also finished with 46 digs.
Terrell plans on getting her electives out of the way before going into either business or nursing.
She will join an SCC squad that went 24-17 last season, and 5-6 in conference play.
Terrell says growing with the Fairfield program helped her get ready to become a next-level player.
“I definitely grew a lot,” Terrell said. “I used to be really shy, and my team helped me come out of my shell. That helped me improve physically and mentally.”
Terrell and the Blackhawks will be back in action next August when the new season kicks back off.
