Third time hopefully the charm for Fairfield, Mount Pleasant football
Lightning hung around Southeast Iowa again Monday night, and once again didn?t leave before causing problems for area football teams.

Lightning hung around Southeast Iowa again Monday night, and once again didn?t leave before causing problems for area football teams.
Fairfield?s game vs. Mount Pleasant, rescheduled from last Friday, has been moved to tonight at 7 p.m. ? weather permitting. Players were able to take the field, and the national anthem was sung Monday before lightning in the south became too much to ignore. The game was officially postponed around 9:15 p.m.
Cardinal to play second half next month
ELDON ? Cardinal used its 6 p.m. start time to play a half of football vs. Highland before the game was called. The second half will be played later in the season on Oct. 18.
The Comets lead the contest 10-7 with 24 minutes to play thanks to Brandon Warren?s three-yard touchdown run a 31-yard field goal by Joel Ramos.
