Three Panther wrestlers named first team all-SEC
Three of the Mt. Pleasant wrestlers were named first team all-conference, as decided by Southeast Conference coaches, and three others landed on the second team.
Zach May (132), Jayton Phillips (160) and Colton Aplara (220) were each chosen for first team honors.

Three of the Mt. Pleasant wrestlers were named first team all-conference, as decided by Southeast Conference coaches, and three others landed on the second team.
Zach May (132), Jayton Phillips (160) and Colton Aplara (220) were each chosen for first team honors.
May, a senior, went 12-4 in the regular season with five pins, earning 61 points for the Panthers. He finished third in his weight class at the district tournament.
Phillips went 10-8 in the regular season with six pins to earn 54 points for the Panthers. The junior qualified for the state tournament with a second-place finish at the district meet.
Aplara, also a junior, took second in his weight class at the district tournament and finished eighth at the state tournament. He went 15-6 in the regular season with nine pins, scoring 73 points for the Panthers this season.
The three Panthers chosen second team all-conference were Tyler Lanphier (113), Justin Dilks (182) and Jacob Dilks (195).
Lanphier, a sophomore, went 10-6 in the regular season and earned 45 points for the Panthers, aided by three pins. He finished third at the district tournament.
Justin Dilks, also a sophomore, went 12-2 on the season. He pinned six opponents and scored 62 points for the Panthers. He was seeded second at the district tournament, but a knee injury forced him to default.
Jacob Dilks, a junior, had a record of 12-4 on the season and pinned nine opponents. He scored 69 points for the Panthers on the season and took third at the district tournament.
Four Panthers were also named to the academic all-SEC team: May, Alec Mathews (junior), Andrew Perry (junior) and Emmett Wester (senior).
