ELDON ? The WACO wrestlers lost their dual against Cardinal last night, 48-14.
Three Warriors, however, came home with a win in their individual matches.
Dylon Evans and Kevin Anderson each won by major decision and Cey Saeugling pinned his opponent in the meet.
Evans, wrestling at 138 pounds, defeated Austin Deshler by a score of 12-1.
Anderson, at 145 pounds, beat Robert McLaughlin, 17-4.
Saeugling, at 160 pounds, won by fall against Jonathan Rupe in the first period, getting the pin at 1:21.
But those three scores were not enough for the Warriors, who lost four matches by fall and had to forfeit four more, which gave the Comets a big advantage in the team score.
Three weight classes had no competitor from either team.
WACO often struggles in dual meets because the team simply cannot get enough guys on the mat to stay competitive. The Warriors are now 2-8 in duals on the season.
The Warriors will wrestle again on Jan. 14, when they host the Warrior Invite.
Both the Mt. Pleasant and New London-Winfield-Mt. Union teams will travel to Wayland on Saturday for the Invite, which starts at 10 a.m.
