Fairfield 15, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 5
EDDYVILLE — The Fairfield offense exploded in Game 1 at EBF Thursday. Hannah Simpson knocked in four runs. Jenna Norris blasted a homer and collected three RBIs.
Coty Engle and Delaney Breen each finished with three hits. Engle also got the win in the circle.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 5, Fairfield 4
EDDYVILLE — EBF won on a walk-off in Game 2. Engle went 1-for-3 with two RBIs in the loss, and Emersyn Manley and Brynley Allison each had two hits.
Laney Norris was in the circle in Game 2 for the Trojans.
Cardinal 11, New London 0
NEW LONDON — The surging Comets shut down a struggling New London squad in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division battle on Thursday.
Cardinal scored three runs in the first inning, five in the third and three in the fourth.
Winfield-Mount Union 20, Mediapolis 7
MEDIAPOLIS — WMU scored the last 14 runs of the ballgame in a three-inning stretch to run away with an SEISC North Division victory.
Makiah Lower went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Keely Malone was 2-for-5 with adouble and three RBIs, and Anna Anderson knocked in two of her own.
Highland 13, Lone Tree 3 (4)
RIVERSIDE — The Huskies were all over Lone Tree in a SEISC North road tilt Thursday. Highland scored the first 12 runs of the ballgame.
Sarah Burton was was 3-for-4 with two RBIs in the win. MyLei Smith went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Jessica Kraus gave up three runs (one earned) in the circle.
Louisa-Muscatine 5, Highland 4
RIVERSIDE — The Huskies lost a nail-biter on Friday against a North Division foe that has now beaten them 10 times in a row.
The Highland offense played long ball on a couple of different occasions. Burton was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Payton Brun went 2-for-4 with a homer and one RBI.
Lone Tree 5, Hillcrest Academy 2
KALONA — The Ravens were unable to secure their first win of the year on Friday. The team was held to two hits.
Grace Miller and Malia Yoder both scored runs in the seventh inning. Leah Bontrager took the loss in the circle.
Sigourney 18, Keota 0 (3)
KEOTA — The Eagles struggled against rival Sigourney on Friday. The Savages put up all 15 runs over the first two innings and tacked three on to win the game in three frames.
