Thursday’s volleyball roundup: Warriors adn Wolves share top spot
WACO, Winfield-Mount Union both win to stay unbeaten in SEISC North

White Pekin and Van Buren County played at a quad in Packwood, most of the area’s teams played conference games on Thursday night.
Pekin, Van Buren County play at Pekin quad
Van Buren County went 1-2 at the Pekin quad, defeating the hosting Panthers 21-12, 19-21, 15-13 in the process. Pekin went 0-3. Both teams lost to Centerville and Davis County.
In the showdown between the Warriors and the Panthers, Ivy Davidson paced Van Buren County with nine kills. Annabelle Cormier finished with 18 assists, and Alivia Batten had eight digs.
Pekin’s Kyli Fitzsimmons and Kayse Miller co-led the team with four kills each. Quinnlyn Baker dished out eight assists, and Alex Parsons had 12 digs.
No. 11 (3A) Mid-Prairie 3, Tipton 1
Mid-Prairie nearly had a sweep of River Valley South rival Tipton, but the Golden Hawks had to settle for a four set loss, winning 25-23, 25-12, 23-25, 25-19.
Landry Pacha led the Golden Hawks with 13 kills,and also dished out 17 assists. Jovi Evans had nine kills, 23 digs and 18 assists, and Dakota Mitchell finished with 22 digs.
No. 11 (2A) West Burlington 3, No. 15 (1A) New London 2
New London played a five-set classic in West Burlington. The Tigers led early in the fifth set, but West Burlington escaped with the win, taking it 20-25, 25-16, 27-25, 19-25, 17-25.
Natalie Burden lit it up for 38 kills in the loss. Sophie Malott had 19, and Camryn Lair finished with 10.
Elly Manning dished out an incredible 76 assists for New London. Emma Nye finished with 58 digs.
WACO 3, Wapello 0
WACO handed Wapello its first loss in Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division play. The Warriors rolled 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 on the road.
Ellah Kissell and Emma Wagler tallied nine kills apiece in the win. Grace Coble had 30 assists, and Jocelyn Fulton finished with 18 digs.
Winfield-Mount Union 3, Louisa-Muscatine 0
Winfield-Mount Union remained undefeated in SEISC North play after frying the Falcons 25-15, 25-10, 25-12.
Melina Oepping had 11 kills for the Wolves. Keely Malone delivered 18 assists, and Keetyn Townsley had eight digs.
WACO and WMU are now both 5-0 in SEISC North play. The two teams meet up at WACO on Tuesday.
Highland 3, Hillcrest Academy 0
It was a happy senior night in Riverside as Highland upended SEISC North foe Hillcrest Academy 25-12, 25-19, 25-9.
Sarah Burton had a 12-kill night for the Huskies, and also led the squad with 10 digs. MyLei Smith led the way in assists.
Columbus 3, Lone Tree 1
The Wildcats took out the Lions in four in a SEISC North home game. Columbus dropped the first set but then rattled off the next three in a 19-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-21 win.
Victoria Howell and Jessica Del Rio had 12 and 11 kills respectively for the Wildcats. Sera Vela tallied 33 assists, and Isabelle Lagunas had 29 digs.
Colfax-Mingo 3, Keota 2
Keota nearly pulled out a home win, but the Tigerhawks had just enough to scoot past the Eagles in a South Iowa Cedar League battle.
Colfax-Mingo won the first set 25-19. Keota tied it up with a 25-18 win in the second. Colfax-Mingo flipped the scripped with a 25-18 win in the third. Keota won a thrilling fourth set, 25-23, and the Tigerhawks won the decider, 15-7.
