Tiger baseball drops game at Cardinal

ELDON - An onslaught of early Comet runs led to a 10-run loss for the New London baseball team on Friday. The Tigers fell in five innings, dropping an SEISC South Division contest 11-1.
Cardinal put up six runs in the first inning and four in the third to take a 10-0 lead after three frames. New London got on the board when Kooper Schulte knocked in Mason Porter in the fourth inning, but Cardinal added an insurance run in the fourth.
New London wasn't able to score in the fifth inning. That ended the contest via the 10-run mercy rule.
New London collected seven hits in the loss. Seth Bailey went 2-3 to lead the squad. Porter went 1-2 with a run scored and Schulte went 1-3 with an RBI.
Darius Whaley was 1-2 with a stolen base in the loss. Jaxon Allen and Carter Allen each went 1-3.
Carter started the game on the mound for New London. He took the loss, throwing three innings and giving up 10 earned runs on nine hits and four walks, while striking out two batters. Whaley gave up one earned run over one inning in relief.
New London will be back on the road tonight (Monday) at Notre Dame. They are currently 0-3.
