Tiger girls take down Cardinal

NEW LONDON -- The New London girls' basketball team won their second game of the year on Friday night, beating Cardinal 46-38.
New London trailed 9-7 after one quarter and 23-21 at halftime, but the Tigers turned it on in the second half. New London outscored Cardinal 14-5 in the third quarter and 11-10 in the fourth.
Ashlyn McSorley and Kara Krieger co-led the team with 13 points apiece in the win. Layney Loyd went off for 12 points, 17 rebounds and three assists. Alisha Boles had seven points, and Addie Pry finished with one.
