Iowa Wesleyan offense not there at Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, SC. — Iowa Wesleyan had a couple of nice pitching performances in a two-game stretch at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Sunday, but the Tigers scored just three runs total in a pair of weekend losses.
In two seven-inning games, Iowa Wesleyan fell to Malone College 5-3 and then dropped a game 6-0 to the University of Pikeville.
The Tigers gave up the first five runs against Malone College, but rallied back to make the game close.
Iowa Wesleyan scored two runs in the third inning and one in the fourth to cut the Malone lead to 5-3. The Tigers, however, wouldn’t score anymore runs on the day.
Gracie Jevyak led Iowa Wesleyan at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI double. Kara Krieger and Nicole Shirrell each had hits.
Aspyn Harrison took a tough loss in the circle, giving up just five runs (one earned) over 5.1 innings. She struck four batters out.
In Game 2, Pikeville scored all six runs in the first three innings. The Tigers only ended the game with two hits.
Jordan Lantz had the only extra base hit against Pikeville, going 1-for-2 with a triple. Kylie Topliff was 1-for-2 with a single.
Haiden Molter took the loss against Pikeville, giving up six runs (three earned) over five innings. She struck out three batters.
