Tiger softball suffers road loss

DONNELLSON - The New London softball team dropped to 7-8 overall with their fifth-straight loss on Thursday night. The Tigers couldn't solve Central Lee, who beat them 13-3 to earn revenge for an 8-5 Tiger win in the second game of the season.
The Hawks slugged out 17 hits against New London, seven more than in their game in May.
Despite the loss, New London got a big fly out of Ashlyn McSorley. She hit her first homer of the season, finishing 2-3. Layney Loyd had a double in the loss.
New London will try and turn things back around tonight (Friday) at home when they take on Wapello. The Tigers and Arrows have not played yet this season.
