Tigers frozen out in Duluth

DULUTH, Mn. - The Iowa Wesleyan football team struggled mightely in chilly Duluth, Minnesota on Saturday. The Tigers were taken down 61-8 by College of St. Scholastica, dropping their eighth straight game this season.
St. Scholastica scored first, getting a seven-yard touchdown pass from star quarterback Zach Edwards to Eddie Lee. The extra point attempt however, was blocked by Jeremiah Silone and returned all the way back to the end zone by Raul Arteaga, giving the Tigers a two-point safety return to cut the lead to 6-2.
After a 24-yard touchdown pass from Edwards to Lee stretched the lead to 12-2, IW scored their only touchdown of the game on a two-yard rush by Andy Wilson. Both teams missed their extra point attempts and St. Scholastica lled 12-8 with 5:30 left in the first quarter.
From there on out, it was all Saints. Edwards threw a 15-yard touchdown pass later in the period to help stretch the lead to 19-8. St. Scholastica led 40-8 at halftime and 47-8 after the third quarter.
Wilson finished with 66 rushing yards and one touchdown to lead the offense. Shomari Wilson added 65 yards of his own, and Guylon Moore ran for 46.
Leo Alvarez was 2-6 passing the ball for 31 yards and an interception. Ronnie Williams caught one pass for 23 yards and Damian Tanelus caught a pass for eight yards.
The defense was led by J McCullough's nine tackles. Chase Tennant and Jaheem Hampton each had eight.
IW had two takeaways in the loss. Anthony Washington forced a fumble that Wallace Williams fell on and Phillip Guel had one interception.
The Tigers are now 0-8 overall and 0-6 in conference play. They'll play their final road game on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Greenville University (6-2, 5-1).
