The Tigers had only one fielding error in the contest, but they took advantage of three Lone Tree errors to score their seven runs on six hits.
Lone Tree had six hits of its own, however, and the teams took turns scoring. The Tigers got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the opening inning, but the Lions answered with two runs in the top of the second. New London tied the score with another run in the third, but again Lone Tree took a lead with two runs in the fourth.
The Tigers took the lead back for good with two runs in the fifth and added some insurance with a three-run sixth.
?We showed a lot of character coming back and winning that game tonight,? Coach Troy Mears said. ?I?m proud of my team for their efforts.?
