Tigers pick up 5-1 win over Danville

Austin Allen struck out 10 against Danville Thursday evening as the New London baseball team defeated the Bears, 5-1, in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference match-up.

The Tigers (9-8 overall, 9-4 SEISC South) scored three times in the top of the seventh inning on singles by Kyle Helmerson and Grant McPheron to take the lead for good.

Allen threw the complete game, allowing one walk, one run and three hits in the victory; he was also two-for-three with two doubles at the plate.

New London hosts Holy Trinity tonight, starting at 5:30 p.m.
