MORAVIA - New London's offense was off to a slow start on Friday night, but the Tigers picked it up with 16 fourth-quarter points to put Moravia away on the Mohawks' home field, all without completing a pass
The Tigers scored first and led the game 8-0 after the first quarter, but Moravia cut the lead to 8-6 in the second. The Tigers held a 16-15 lead going into the fourth quarter, but put the game away with two more touchdowns.
Blaise Porter had a monster game both offensively and defensively. He carried the ball for 155 yards and three touchdowns, and also had two interceptions on the night, one of which that went for a defensive score. New London was 4-for-4 on two-point conversion attempts.
Caydin Wahls had a nice game running the ball as well, going for 60 yards on the ground.
The New London defense was led by Carter Allen, who ended the night with seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Dom Lopez had 5.5 tackles, and Wahls ended the night with five.
The Tigers lost the turnover battle 4-3 but still came away with a decisive victory.
New London is now 1-0 and will host WACO in a Henry County showdown this Friday.
