Tigers trample Bears on homecoming

NEW LONDON - The New London football team bounced back from two-straight losses to put a hurting on English Valleys on Friday night. The Tigers ran all over the Bears for a 78-20 homecoming victory.
The Tigers rolled from the get go. They led 22-8 after one quarter and 44-8 at the halftime.
Shae Summerfield led the offense with 128 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Blaise Porter ran for 94 yards and two scores.
Six different players ran for touchdowns in the win. Cameron Raines, Dom Lopez, Ethan Streeter and Josh Glendening each found the end zone.
Lopez and Porter each threw one touchdown pass in the win. Summerfield caught a 12-yard touchdown pass and Gabe Carter caught a four-yard score.
New London's defense caused three turnovers on the night. Markel Luckett had a 30-yard pick-six. Clayton Phillips picked off a pass and Caydin Wahls had a fumble recovery.
New London moved to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the district. The Tigers are two games back of first place HLV but can keep their playoff hopes alive if they win out.
The Tigers will travel to Winfield-Mt. Union this week to take on W-MU at the Wolves' homecoming game.
