The New London fall sports season was as exciting as ever in 2022, as the Tigers proved to be a force in Southeast Iowa athletics time and time again.
The New London volleyball team went 28-10 overall and 10-3 in Southeast Iowa Super Conference South play. The Tigers had a magical run through the postseason end with a devastating five-set loss to Springville in the regional final.
New London turns to seniors Sophie Malott (220 kills) and Tysann Gipple (201 kills) to lead the way this fall. New London loses its assists and digs leaders to graduation.
The New London football team went 6-4 last year, including a playoff loss to Gladbrook-Reinbeck in the Class 8-Player quarterfinals. The Tigers will replace a huge amount of talent on the gridiron this season.
Danville-New London cross-country looks to defend its boys SEISC championship after dominating the field last season. D-NL was a state qualifier, thanks in part to now-senior Carter Fesler and now-junior Carter Fesler Jackson Sachklett, who finished seventh and eighth in the SEISC last year.
The D-NL girls will once again lead on sophomore Alaina Gourley and senior Kamryn Sherwood. Those two runners finished second and fifth in the SEISC last year, and both qualified for state.
