Tigers, Warriors compete in Davis County tournament

BLOOMFIELD - Both 10th-ranked New London and WACO were at the Davis County volleyball tournament on Saturday. New London went 4-1 and WACO was 2-2.
New London swept Albia and Centerville in two sets. The Tigers beat Lynville-Sully and WACO in three sets, but fell in two to Iowa City Liberty.
When the two teams played each other, New London took the first set 25-9. WACO grinded out a 25-23 win in the second set, but the Tigers pulled out a 15-8 win in set three.
Addie Pry had 19 kills to lead the Tigers in the win. Kristen Rohdy had 29 assists and four aces, and Chloe Coleman had 23 digs. WACO was led by 10 kills from Morgan Graber, 24 assists by Laney Graber and 15 digs by Aubri Garnsey. The Warriors had three aces, led by Lindsey Roth, who had one.
The Tigers beat Albia 21-13 and 21-11. Pry had eight kills in the win. Rohdy led the way with 17 assists, and both Chloe Coleman and Clara Cooper had nine digs. New London had eight aces in the win, getting three each from Cooper and Sophie Lounsbury and two from Pry.
The Tigers won 21-11 and 21-8 against Centerville. Pry had seven kills in the win. Rohdy had 15 assists, and Wenger had seven digs. The Tigers had seven aces, led by Rohdy, who had three.
New London dropped the first set against Lynnville-Sully 21-17. The Tigers bounced back to win the second set 21-12 and the third set 15-9.
Kaylor Schulte had nine kills to lead the Tigers in that win. Rohdy finished with 23 assists and 10 digs. Coleman had 13 digs, and Alexa Wenger had four aces.
The Tigers lost 25-14 and 25-16 against Iowa City Liberty, losing their shot at a sweep. Schulte had six kills in that loss. Rohdy finished with 10 assists, and Coleman had 12 digs.
WACO took down Cardinal 21-15 and 21-14. M. Graber, Clara Schmitz and Kirsten Conley had six kills each in the win. L. Graber finished with 19 assists. Garnsey had eight digs, and both Garnsey and L. Graber finished with three aces.
The Warriors went back-and-forth with Davis County, eventually winning in three sets. The Warriors took that game 22-20, 14-21, 15-10.
Schmitz had six kills against Davis County. L. Graber finished with 16 assists and four aces. Garnsey had 15 digs.
WACO was upended 21-10 and 21-16 against Iowa City Liberty. Schmitz finished with six kills in that loss. L. Graber had 11 assists, and Garnsey led the squad with nine digs.
IC Liberty went 5-0 on the night. They did not lose a set on their way to the tournament victory.
