Tigers whack Warriors on senior night

NEW LONDON - Five different players reached double figures for the No. 3 New London boys in their senior night win over Van Buren on Monday night. The Tigers knocked off the Warriors 76-51 to finish the home schedule unbeaten.
The Tigers led 21-11 after one quarter and 40-21 at halftime. They stretched their lead to 55-29 after three quarters before coasting home with a victory.
Mason Porter had another big game, scoring 18 points and yanking down eight rebounds in the win. Keontae Luckett flirted with a double-double, scoring 16 points and dishing out nine assists.
Jalen Birdsell scored 15 points. Darius Whaley had 11. Tyler Henecke scored 10 points off the bench. Grant Swanson had three. D.J. Humphrey had two, and Dylan Smith had one.
Seven of the Tigers' eight seniors scored in the win. The eighth senior, injured guard Isaac McSorley, did give playing a shot on Monday night. He finished with an assist and a steal.
New London has won 18 games this season and the Tigers still haven't lost. They'll look to move to 19-0 tonight (Wednesday) when they hit the road to play Cardinal.
