?Time is now? to move forward with pool

I just got back from the public meeting about the effort to provide Fairfield with a new pool and gym, and at the risk of sounding like Dan Breen, I?ve got to reiterate what he said ? the time is now.
My family and I moved to Fairfield from Denver four years ago. We have one child left in the school system and by the time this is built, he?ll be in college.
Yet, for the less than $100 a year that it will cost us in property taxes, my family and I think this is a sound investment in the community we now call home.
Surely, there are many worthy projects in Fairfield, and frankly, we support as many of them as we can. Yet this one has captured our imagination for one primary reason ? Fairfield?s kids need it.
Now that the skating rink and movie theaters have closed, the pool at OB Nelson has closed, and who knows what will happen with swimming in Waterworks, there are fewer activities for Fairfield?s kids than ever.
The gym and pool will provide healthy, family friendly activities year-round. They?ll also provide additional facilities for student atheletes to use for training and practice.
With fewer options for our children, construction costs at an all-time low, and the energy of our amazing community behind, I firmly believe the time is now to vote ?Yes? on November 6th for our new pool and gym.
Won?t you join me and my family in doing so?
