KEOKUK — The Mt. Pleasant girls basketball team continued to slide on Friday night. The Panthers dropped a Southeast Conference road game to Keokuk, falling 73-40.
The Chiefs used their full-court press to rattle the Panthers early and dominated the first half. Keokuk led 19-8 after the first quarter and 34-13 at halftime.
The Panthers played the Chiefs closer in the second half, but the damage had been done. Keokuk led 55-30 after the third, and closed it out with an 18-10 fourth quarter.
The loss was Mt. Pleasant’s fourth in a row. The Panthers have not won since a road victory over Ottumwa at the end of November.
Mt. Pleasant is now 1-5 and will play at Benton Community on Monday.
