TIFFIN ‒ It was a slow start offensively for the Mt. Pleasant baseball team in its season opener at Clear Creek-Amana on Wednesday night. The Clippers knocked off the Panthers 11-0 in five innings.
Clear Creek-Amana scored all 11 runs over the first two innings. The Clippers plated three runs in the first inning and eight in the second.
Mt. Pleasant had just one hit on the day. Colten Hutson finished the game 1-for-1 with a double.
Jack Johnson took the loss on the mound, giving up 11 runs (five earned) on four hits and five walks, while striking out two batters.
