Track and Field, XC Coaches of the Year announced
New London’s Ingwersen, Mid-Prairie’s Chris Tyler named coaches of the year

The Union area had very successful track and field and cross-country season this year, with a pair of teams winning state titles and numerous bringing out top five finishes.

While the athletes have been given recognition for their performances, it’s time to recognize the coaches that taught them with the release of the 2022 Track and Field and Cross-Country Coaches of the Year by Iowarunjumpthrow.ycom.
Mid-Prairie’s Mark Hostetler was named an At Large Coach of the Year in Class 2A Girls Cross-Country. Hostetler helped the Golden Hawks finished fifth at the state tournament and brought home an individual state champion.
On the track and field side of things, New London’s Lance Ingwersen was named the Class 1A Boys State Coach of the Year after helping the Tiger win the 2022 state title.
Mid-Prairie’s Chris Tyler was named the 2A Girls State Coach of the Year, while helping the Golden Hawks win the 2022 state championship.
In Class 3A, Washington’s Steve Roth was named an At-Large Coach of the Year for helping the Demons put together yet another fantastic year, which included numerous top five finishes and an individual state title.

In Cross-Country, Mid-Prairie’s Mark Hostetler was named an At Large Coach of the Year in Class 2A Girls. Hostetler helped the Golden Hawks finished fifth at the state tournament and brought home an individual state champion.
Stephanie Haworth was given an At Large Coach of the Year distinction for Washington in Class 3A Girls. Haworth helped the Demons put together one of their best season in school history, finishing sixth at state.
