Track participants heading to Des Moines
Eight members of the Washington girls and boys track and field teams are getting ready to head to Des Moines to participate in this year?s state meet at Drake Stadium starting Thursday, May 18.
The first event in which Washington will be represented starts at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Hannah Anderson will run in the preliminary 200-meter dash event. She will be in the third heat in lane 6.

Eight members of the Washington girls and boys track and field teams are getting ready to head to Des Moines to participate in this year?s state meet at Drake Stadium starting Thursday, May 18.
The first event in which Washington will be represented starts at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Hannah Anderson will run in the preliminary 200-meter dash event. She will be in the third heat in lane 6.
She takes to the track again at 6:37 p.m. Thursday for the preliminary 100-meter dash in the second heat in lane 3.
If she qualifies with a fast enough time in either or both events, she will run in the finals Saturday.
The 100-meter dash is at 12:45 p.m. Saturday and the 200-meter final starts at 1:55 p.m.
Caleb Bex runs in the first heat of the 110-meter hurdles Friday, May 19, at 3:30 p.m. He will be in lane 1.
Anderson will take part in the long jump action Friday.
She will be in the second flight and will be the eighth jumper. That event starts at 4:30 p.m.
Following at 4;45 p.m., the girls 4x200-meter relay team of Leah Marek, Ashley Telleen, Isabel Bailey and Jenah Greiner will run in the second heat in lane 7.
The final event for Washington is Friday at 5:30 p.m. when Telleen will run in lane 1 of the second heat in the 400-meter hurdles.
All events take place on the Big Blue Oval at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
