Union area track and field teams were in action on Tuesday and Thursday night.
While much of the area was competing in the Southeast Conference meet and the Southeast Iowa Super Conference meet, Mid-Prairie, Cardinal and Keota were in their own conference slates.
Mid-Prairie had a fantastic showing on both the girls and boys’ side of things. Both Golden Hawk squads were River Valley Conference Champions.
The Golden Hawk boys posted 122 points to top the 15 team field. That mark was 46 points better then second-place Anamosa who finished with 76.
Meanwhile, the Golden Hawk girls’ 125 points were good enough for the crown. They outdid Tipton, who ended with 100 points.
As for Keota, the Eagles took part in the Rick Wanamaker Coed Invitational.
The Keota girls finished fifth in the invite, posting 40 points. HLV-TC were the champions with 164 points.
The boys finished with 41.5 points, which put them in sixth.
Finally, the Cardinal girls were in action on Tuesday at the South Central Conference Conference Meet. The Comets finished with 38.5 points and an eighth overall finish.
Davis County was crowned champions with 125 points.
