FAIRFIELD — It was tough sledding for the Fairfield baseball team when Solon came into town on Wednesday night.
The visiting Spartans were able to score constantly and shut down the Trojan offense in a 10-0 non-conference battle.
Solon scored two runs in the first inning, four in the second, one in the fourth and three in the fifth to end the game in five innings via the 10-run rule.
Fairfield had two hits in the game. Isaac Harris was 1-for-2 with a double, and Tate Allen went 1-for-3 with a single.
Harris took the loss on the mound, giving up seven runs (three earned) over three innings of work. Cody Birlson and Brody Phillips also pitched for the Trojans.
Fairfield fell to 8-13 with the loss.
