Trojan baseball splits non-conference DH at Knoxville
Kosta Papazaglou and Tristan Ledger combined for a shutout as the Trojan baseball team split with Knoxville 2-0, 3-1 on Thursday night.
The Fairfield freshman earned the win on the mound, allowing only five hits over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked only two. Ledger retired the final batter on five pitches to earn the save.

Kosta Papazaglou and Tristan Ledger combined for a shutout as the Trojan baseball team split with Knoxville 2-0, 3-1 on Thursday night.
The Fairfield freshman earned the win on the mound, allowing only five hits over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked only two. Ledger retired the final batter on five pitches to earn the save.
Cameron Baumann provided the offense, driving in both Fairfield runs, one via a solo homer in the sixth inning and another on a Knoxville error in the first. Alex Crile led the way with two hits for Fairfield. Tristan Waugh, Ledger and Hunter Hoskins also logged a hit in the ballgame.
Rylan Cox suffered the loss on the mound for Knoxville, pitching the complete seven innings. He allowed seven hits and two runs, one earned. He struck out a batter and did not walk a single Trojan on the day.
The Panthers got the better of Fairfield in the other game, winning the matchup 3-1. The Trojans took a 1-0 lead in the second inning with an RBI from Tristan Waugh, but Knoxville?s Calyn Bumgardner put the Panthers back on top with a two-run hit in the third.
Cade Lisk suffered the loss on the mound, pitching six innings of five-hit ball. The sophomore walked three and struck out three in the game, allowing three earned runs as well.
Jacob Zuck earned the win for Knoxville, holding Fairfield to just five hits and one run over 5 1/3 innings pitched. Kaleb Streigle got the final five outs of the game to earn the save, allowing only one base runner from a walk.
Fairfield now stands at 13-4 on the season after the split and will begin their second tour of the Southeast Conference in Washington on Monday night.
