Trojan boys fall at Holy Trinity
Disaster fourth drowns Fairfield in non-conference clash

FORT MADISON — The Fairfield boys basketball team was in good position to score a road upset against a 6-3 Holy Trinity Catholic squad on Tuesday night, but the final eight minutes spelled doom for the Trojans.
After going into the fourth quarter trailing by just three points, a 25-3 run for the Crusaders turned the game into a 69-44 HTC victory.
Fairfield started out hot, leading 16-10 after one quarter. The Trojans tailed 29-28 at halftime, and they were still in the game, at 44-41 after three periods.
Ben Boatright sored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Trojans in the loss. He also coled the team with two steals.
Riley Perkins finished the game with 11 points and four assists. Ethan Bisgard had eight points. Sam Weaton finished with seven, and Eli Zillman had four.
Fairfield is now 1-9 on the year. The Trojans will put their 0-4 Southeast Conference record on the line at Mt. Pleasant (6-3, 4-0) on Friday night.
