FT. MADISON — It wasn’t a great night for the Fairfield boys basketball team on Tuesday night, as the Trojans failed to gain traction in a non-conference battle with Holy Trinity Catholic.
The hosting Crusaders suffocated the Trojans early and often, beating Fairfield 64-26.
Fairfield was ice cold in the first quarter, allowing HTC to build a 20-2 lead by the first break. The Crusaders stretched that advantage to 34-10 at halftime and 54-19 after three periods.
Drew Myers led Fairfield with eight points in the loss. He also paced the team with five rebounds and two steals.
Ethan Bisgard scored seven points in the loss. Voss Richardson had five. Brock Atwood, Axl Starr and Spencer McCready each scored two.
The Trojan boys are now on an eight-game slide. Fairfield is sitting at 2-14 overall.
