Union area gets 11 on All-Conference list

FAIRFIELD — Flamingo Lanes in Fairfield played host to the 2025 Southeast Conference bowling championships on Monday. Both the Fairfield boys and Mt. Pleasant girls took home second-place finishes.
The Trojan boys scored a 2,615, just under 200 less than first-place Burlington. Mt. Pleasant took fourth in the boys’ standings and Washington ended the meet in fifth.
Fairfield’s Ethan Cass finished at an even 400, rolling 214 in his first game and 186 in his second game to take third place in conference, behind Burlington’s Keaton Lair and Kassen Smith, who finished first and second respectively.
Mt. Pleasant’s Henry Pforts finished fourth place overall, shooting a 397. Fairfield’s Ian Aplara was sixth, at 370. Washington’s Mitchell Zieglowsky and Kelton Burke were ninth and 11th respectively, with Zieglowsky rolling a 359 and Burke finishing at 253, and Fairfield’s Blake Ballew took the final All-Conference spot with a 351.
For Fairfield, Axl Star rolled a 339, Dylan Adam ended at 302 and Dayson Workman finished at 292 to help the Trojans stay in the Top-2.
Joseph Rheinschmidt was one spot off the All-SEC list for Mt. Pleasant, finishing at 348. Mason Frueh rolled a 326. Keagan Ellington finished at 302, and Matthew Schnicker rolled a 281.
Washington’s next bowler down the list was Mason Catenacio, who finished at 334. Cooper Zahs rolled a 290. Trevin Sulentich ended at 239, and Robert Fleming bowled a 165.
On the girls’ side, Mt. Pleasant performed best in the Union area by finishing 38 pins above Fairfield for second. Keokuk won the girls’ standings by over 600 pions, and also finished with the Top-5 individual scores, and six out of the Top-7.
Fairfield’s Emma Cass rolled a 345 for sixth place overall. Grace Forrest was two spots behind her teammate, with a 320, for eighth. Mt. Pleasant’s Bethany Drury (320), Shyann Smith (300) and Joanna Fortin (286) were ninth, 11th and 12th respectively to all land on the All-Conference list.
The Panthers used a 251 from Natalie Brush and a 193 from Annette Reynolds to stay above the Trojans for second. Fairfield’s Addison Harris rolled a 285. Emma Forrest finished at 267 for the Trojans. Autumb McBride rolled a 252, and Brooklyn Gridley finished at 165.
For the Washington girls, Shae Flemingand Emma Loeffler both bowled a 203, and Brittany Diveney ended at 185.
