Trojan boys, Panther girls win on the lanes

MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant bowling team welcomed Fairfield for a Southeast Conference battle on the lanes at Iris Bowling Center on Thursday. Both teams came away with a win, as the unbeaten Trojans won the boys' contest 3,007-2,575, and the Panther girls went to 6-1 with a 2,196-1,856 victory.
The Fairfield boys have now won seven in a row to start the season after yet another SEC win. The Trojans had the Top-3 scores on the day.
Dayson Workman bowled a 436 to lead Fairfield. Chase Johnston finished at 427, and Ethan Cass bowled a 409.
Ian Aplara finished at 359 for the Trojans. Dylan Adam bowled a 343, and Axl Starr finished at 277.
For Mt. Pleasant, Henry Pforts led the way with a 400. Joseph Rheinschmidt rolled a 385. Mason Frueh rolled a 264. Ethan Payne finished at 321. Matthew Schnicker bowled a 305, and Xachary LaBlanc finished at 303.
The Panther girls locked up the first two spots, including a fantastic performance by Bethany Drury, who bowled a 357, to win individual gold by 63 pins.
Behind Drury was Natalie Brush, who gave the Panthers a second Top-2 finisher by bowling a 296. Madelynn Millard and Shyann Smith both bowled a 270. Annette Reynolds finished at 254, and Joanna Fortin bowled a 252.
The Trojan girls were led by Autumn McBride, who rolled a 279. Emma Cass bowled a 277. Grace Forrest finished at 258. Emma Forrest bowled a 215, and Brooklyn Gridley finished at 203.
