Trojan boys win JV game

MOUNT PLEASANT ? The Fairfield JV boys? basketball team claimed its first win of the season Friday, topping host Mount Pleasant 43-40 prior to the varsity contest.

Fairfield junior Alex Shier led all scorers with 15 points, and freshman Jordan Reid contributed 12 points with a pair of 3-pointers. Austin Deao, a sophomore, scored five points and finished with three assists and three steals.

Also for Fairfield, Alex Simpson and Logan Fleeman scored four points. Landen Greiner pulled down a team-leading five boards.

The Trojans lost their first game of the season last Monday at Oskaloosa by a final score of 40-34. Shier led the team on offense with 10 points, while Simpson and Deao scored six and five points, respectively.

Fairfield is back in action today at Albia.
