Trojan, Demon and Panther bowling begins season
Fairfield defeats Washington in first meet of the year, Mt. Pleasant splits with West Burlington

For Mt. Pleasant, Washington and Fairfield, the bowling season has officially begun.
The Trojans, Demons and Panthers were all in action on Tuesday night to kick off their season.
Fairfield and Washington clashed, while Mt. Pleasant squared off against West Burlington.
On the boys’ side, Fairfield picked up its first win of the season by defeating Washington 2,459 to 1,187. Mt. Pleasant fell just short in their contest to West Burlington 2,197 to 2,168.
For the girls, Mt. Pleasant got a win, out bowling the Falcons 2,113 to 1,365. Scores from the Washington and Fairfield girls meet are not yet released.
Between the Fairfield and Washington boys, the Trojan’s Ian Aplara was the high scorer.
Aplara finished with 404 total pins, with a game high of 220. Following Aplara was Ethan Cass with 363 and Dayson Workman with 328. Dylan Adam had 290, Dalton Drish 273 and Chase Johnston 268.
For Washington, Caleb Zieglowsky was the leading bowler. Zieglowsky rolled a 323. Quintyn Garibay and Cooper Zahs followed with 225 and 188.
Against West Burlington, Mt. Pleasant’s Jonathan Fortin was the highest bowler on the day. Fortin finished with 370 pins.
Alec Payne took third with 321. Christian Bracht-Wagner ended with 279, Joey Keever had 232, Xachary LaBlance, 231 and Henry Pforts, 215.
The Mt. Pleasant girls dominated their meet.
The Panther bowlers went one through six with Addison McGehearty leading the way with a score of 361. Kyle Alldredge followed with 297, Bethany Drury ended with a 294, Airianna Taylor rolled a 249, Abby Anderson had a 241 and Cayla Burns shot a 236.
