FAIRFIELD — The 2021 Fairfield football schedule opens up with rival Mt. Pleasant and follows with the Trojan football team playing three out of four on their home turf.
Fairfield’s Aug. 27 matchup in Mt. Pleasant will come with the chance to avenge a 21-6 loss from last season. The Trojans will play six rematches from 2020 this fall.
In 2020, Fairfield opened the season up with a thrilling 15-7 home win over Knoxville. The Trojans will welcome Knoxville back just over one year later with a home game in Week 4.
After that victory, however, the Trojans went winless. Fairfield dropped its last seven games of the year.
Along with Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield will be looking to avenge losses to Fort Madison in Week 3, Keokuk in Week 5, West Burlington-Notre Dame in Week 6 and Washington in Week 8.
After the season opener, Fairfield will host three of its next four contests, but as the weather gets cold, the Trojans will be hitting the road. Fairfield plays just one home game in October, an Oct. 15 showdown with Washington.
