Trojan football rebuilds

The Fairfield football team got off to a red-hot start in 2022, but a couple of close losses at the end of the season left the Trojans with a sour taste in their mouths.
The 2022 Trojan football team started the year 4-2 and ended 4-5. That put them just one game back of the playoff picture.
The 2023 Trojans will have to replace quite a lot. Senior quarterback Tate Allen accounted for almost all of the team’s passing yards last year, and also led the team in rushing. Max Weaton was the team’s leading receiver, and even the Trojans’ second-leading rusher, Miles McEntee, was lost to graduation.
Junior Cason Miller will be the leading returning rusher after going for 87 yards and one touchdown. Senior Tallon Bates is the leading returning pass catcher after recording 114 yards receiving and four scores last year.
