Trojan girls tennis completes sweep of Panthers
Fairfield gives up just two matches to Mt. Pleasant in final head-to-head matchup

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield girls tennis completed the season sweep of Mt. Pleasant last Thursday, as the Trojans took the competition 7-2.
Mt. Pleasant’s two wins came from one singles and one doubles match.
In the No. 1 match, Fairfield’s Sydney Wells defeated Mt. Pleasant’s Eliana Situmeang 8-1.
Madison Greiner defeated Mary Kate Peterson in the No. 2 match 8-1 as well.
Fairfield’s Emma Wendland downed the Panther’s Victoria Smith 8-2.
Giteeka Adhikari was another winner for the Trojans in the No. 4 bout 8-2. Adhikari defeated Mt. Pleasant’s Eva Rounceville.
The Panthers’ one single’s victory came from Bethany Drury in the No. 5 match. Drury defeated the Trojans’ Una Carter 8-2.
The No. 6 match ended with the Trojan’s Lola Hatchette topping the Panther’s Audrey Richmond 8-5.
In doubles, Wells and Greiner bested Situmeang and Rounceville 8-1.
Wendland and Adhikari were winners over Peterson and Smith 8-2.
Mt. Pleasant’s final win came from the duo of Drury and Richmond, who defeated Carter and Hatchette 8-4.
With the victory, Fairfield improves to 4-5 on the season.
Mt. Pleasant drops to 0-10 after the defeat.
