Trojan JV softball drops two contests
The Trojan JV softball team lost a pair of games to the Mount Pleasant eighth- and ninth-graders Wednesday in Fairfield.
The Trojans fell in the opener 11-4 before losing the second game 5-3.
In game one, Lindsey Repp contributed two hits, while Sierra Simmons, Addison Thornton, Emma Kuehl and Harley Cook all singled once. Cook crossed the plated twice, and Thornton and Kuehl each scored once.

The Trojans fell in the opener 11-4 before losing the second game 5-3.
In game one, Lindsey Repp contributed two hits, while Sierra Simmons, Addison Thornton, Emma Kuehl and Harley Cook all singled once. Cook crossed the plated twice, and Thornton and Kuehl each scored once.
Mikaela Amendt pitched seven innings for the complete game, but she took her first loss of the season. Most of the damage done against Amendt, who finished with five strikeouts, occurred during the seventh inning when the Trojan defense committed three errors.
Fairfield?s Aspen Bowman and Delaney Neil shared the pitching duties of game two, with Bowman going 3 1/3 innings and Neil taking over for the final 2 2/3 innings. Bowman allowed one hit while fanning three batters, and Neil allowed just one run.
At the plate, Kelsey Roberts hit a double with one run scored, Paris Bickham tallied two singles, and Mackenzi Harwood and Ashlee Hardeman tacked on one single apiece. Cook and Jasmine Elmore also scored for Fairfield.
The Trojans are at home against Ottumwa today with a scheduled start time of 5 p.m.
