Trojan soccer splits with Chiefs
Boys come out on top, girls come up short at Keokuk

KEOKUK — The Fairfield boys and girls soccer teams squared off with Keokuk on Monday night.
There were highs and there were lows for the Trojans on the evening.
The Trojan boys took care of business, crushing the Chiefs in a 10-0 win. The girls were topped by Keokuk in their contest, 8-2.
On the boys side, Andrew Twohill had himself a night.
The junior propelled the Trojans scoring a whopping seven goals in the competition.
Jayvin Guezimane, Carter Stark and Binh Truong all added a goal of their own to cap off the goal scoring onslaught.
Cooper Polonsky finished with two assists in the matchup.
The Trojans improve to 4-7 on the season and will faceoff with Centerville (2-8) on Thursday.
On the girls side, the Trojans struggled to contain the Chiefs on the offensive end in the first.
Keokuk scored all eight of its goals in the opening half, while Fairfield went scoreless.
The Trojans fought back in the second, getting two goals of their own, but it wouldn’t be enough as the deficit was too great to overcome.
Savannah Hollander scored both of Fairfield’s goals in the game. Haleigh Strickland finished with two assists.
Kiara Bickham made 16 saves.
Fairfield drops to 0-12 with the loss. They will be back in action on Thursday in a matchup with Centerville, (8-6).
