Trojan tennis swept by Bulldogs
Fairfield wins just one set in match with Ottumwa

FAIRFIELD — Monday was a tough outing for the Fairfield boys tennis squad as the Trojans fell to the Bulldogs of Ottumwa in straight sets.
Fairfield was defeated 9-0 in the competition.
In the No. 1 singles match, Garrett Flanagan was the lone Trojan to take one set from the Bulldogs.
Flanagan went 2-6 in the first match and then battled to a 6-2 (12-10) score in the second.
Jace Hannes came up short in the No. 2 match 6-4 and 6-0.
Dil Hurlin was bested 6-2 in each of his two matches.
Ethan Cass put up a nice fight in his opening match, which eventually led to a 6-3 defeat and in his second he fell 6-1.
Ryan Anderson was bested 6-2 and 6-0 in a pair of sets and Niko Emerson came up short 6-1 and 6-0 in back-to-back sets.
In doubles, the duo of Flanagan and Hannes were defeated 6-4 and 6-3.
Hurlin and Emerson had one of the closest matches of the day, but came up short 7-5 in the first set. The pair were defeated 6-1 in the second.
Cass and Anderson rounded out the double competition with a 6-2 and 6-4 loss.
The Trojans will return to the courts on Monday, April 10, where they will play host to Mt. Pleasant.
