FAIRFIELD — The Southeast Conference girls tennis season continued to progress on Monday, with a matchup between Fairfield and Burlington.
The end of the clash saw Burlington continuing its unblemished win streak, 7-0, with a 7-2 victory over the Trojans; however, the Trojans have a streak going themselves in the form of Tess Paton.
Last years third place state finisher, Paton has yet to drop a singles match this season. On Monday it was no different.
Paton took care of business, breezing through the No. 1 singles match, 8-1.
The Trojans fell in the next five matches.
In the No. 2 singles match, Sydney Well was just short, 8-3. Madison Greiner lost 8-1 in her match. Giteeka Adhikari was bested 8-0. Emma Wendland was downed 8-2 and Emily Simpson 8-0.
In doubles, Paton and Greiner were the sole winners, 8-4.
Wells and Adhikari, along with Wendland and Simpson were defeated 8-2.
The Trojans, 1-7, will take on Mt. Pleasant, 0-7, on Thursday.
