Trojan wrestlers get sixth in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE - The Fairfield wrestling team traveled to Knoxville on Saturday and finished sixth in the Panther Invitational. The Trojans scored 82 points, defeating Moravia (64 points) and falling to five other teams.
Fairfield brought six wrestlers to the event and ended up with one championship. Caleb Heisel won the 160 lbs. bracket, winning three matches on his way to victory. In the final, Heisel pinned Centerville's Josh Oldfield in justy 20 seconds to secure the top spot.
At 285 lbs., Aidan Pohren battled back to finish second place. Pohren was pinned by Nevada's Camdan Vincent in the first round but came back to win his next two matches, a pin against Centerville's Cuirse Flanders and a 6-4 decision against Southeast Polk JV's Jack Wilty to end the day at 2-1.
Fairfield had two third place finishes, Zach Westercamp at 120 lbs., and Cohyn Roach at 126 lbs. Westercamp wrestled back to take third place, going 3-1 on the day. He took down Centerville's Jax Mosley in the third place match. Roach also battled back in wrestlebacks, going 3-1 and pinning Southeast Polk JV's Grant Vorwerk in 1:37 during the third place bout.
Peyton Cline took fourth place at 152 lbs. He lost two matches against Connor Golston of Moravia but went 2-2 on thoe day. Logan Adam competed in the 145 lbs. bracket, going 0-2. He did not place.
