FAIRFIELD — Keokuk proved to be too much for Fairfield on Friday night as the Trojans struggled to thwart the Chiefs on both sides of the ball.
Fairfield was downed 66-23 in the Southeast Conference battle.
The Trojans just couldn’t find an answer on the defensive end, coupled with offensive woes as well.
Keokuk took control early.
The Chiefs led 18-7 after the opening quarter in the matchup.
Fairfield’s Ashlyn Lisk hit a three at the buzzer to make it an 11 point game heading into the second.
The second quarter made all the difference.
The Chiefs outscored the Trojans 30-8 in the period for a 48-15 halftime lead.
Keokuk continued to built its lead in the third as they dropped in 13 to the Trojans six, making it 61-21 at the start of the fourth.
Fairfield scored just two points in the fourth as Keokuk picked up the win.
The Trojans drop to 2-16 on the season and 1-9 in SEC play.
